Max

Not sure how you even judge a QB with this poor of a line. Goff even looks bad today.

Brosmer is not ready and KOC does little to help. It was just 3rd and 6, three of four routes were 10+ yards with two over 15 That’s been pretty common. A lot of long developing plays with a rookie undrafted QB and 3 of 5 OL out.
He had time to throw. Refuses.

Earlier missed high (again) on the 20 yard throw to Addison.

Brosmer has been really bad.

This is also an impressive display of offensive ineptitude. How can the coaches not put together a better game plan knowing what tools they have access to?

TF is KOC supposed to do?
Do you not understand that there are different strategies in the passing game? Clearly long developing plays and deep routes with an overwhelmed QB and multiple missing OL is not working. KOC likes the longer passing game which is fine if you have the right personnel. That’s clearly not the case here yet he refuses to change.

What the actual fuck are you even watching?

Its been nothing BUT short passing game shit. He hasn't thrown one single solitary pass more than 10 yards downfield. And he cant even complete those.

He gets the snap, takes 5 steps back, and freezes.

He has his issues, but that was a big-time throw by Brosmer to Jefferson to get the first.

Clearly more than you. It’s a lot more than where he ends up throwing the ball. In many cases those are the 3rd or even 4th options on the play. The first few options are usually longer developing, deeper routes. So the QB has to wait a little longer to move to the next option.

You just said he takes 5 steps which indicates longer routes. Brosmer was very effective in the shorter game last year where the Gophers flooded the short zones. He could make very quick decisions.

Neither QB is playing good. You might argue Goff has been worse.
Outside of having a running qb I don't think many QBs would look good behind this Vikings line. Max is a 3rd string QB in his 1st season. Would be interesting to see what he could do if he had more than 0.2 seconds to throw.

Settle down. As usual, you have no idea what you are talking about.

I think Max will get a longer look next pre-season, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Vikings looked for a veteran to be the primary back-up. Max's arm is stronger than I thought it would be and he's a better runner than I thought he would be (he got to do neither in his time with the Gophers).

I look at it this way. He came to the Vikings' pre-season camp with probably a less than 5% chance of even being on the practice squad and he will end up starting at least 2 games (and maybe a third next week). He's being force-fed and he's looked shaky, but if anyone here would have thought given these circumstances it would have been otherwise is probably just have never thought much of Brosmer.

As an aside, I am so happy that Dan Campbell's butt will be in the easy chair instead of on the sidelines during the post-season. Big macho chucklehead.
