All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

I got what you meant about Newark, I was just having fun with it.

I do however think an NFL franchise's charter is going to get some special dispensation.

I get you. Duly noted. I'll at least share one of the handful of stories I know, only because it happened to me personally. On the way to Dublin for the Vikings-Steelers game, my plane change was Newark. Newark has 3 runways; on this particular weekend, they had 2 of the 3 runways closed for construction. Everything all weekend long was delayed, In and Out of Newark, for 2-4 hours.

That's kinda the business I'm in, and I know sometimes you have to close shit to get shit done but WTF..... I'm sure there WAS a reason, but from my construction standpoint, I can't think of a viable reason you can get away with closing 2 of your 3 runways. The phone calls they must have gotten that weekend....

Back to Vikings news (although that was kinda sorta Vikings related).....

That makes sense since from your perspective.

I would presume though if that was still an issue at Newark, the Vikings would have chosen one of the other numerous airports able to handle such a charter in the nearby NYC/NJ area that are a very reasonable less than 30 minute drive to East Rutherford.

It's been a couple decades since I have flown to/through Newark, but I get the rep.

It's more like the Vikings moving to Fargo or Sioux Falls. When the Vikings threatened to move training camp to Sioux Falls the governor at the time had a fit.
Maybe, but they obviously aren't moving four hours away. Google Maps shows Soldier Field to Gary, Ind as about 29miles on I-90 (no idea what traffic on that is like, probably terrible).

You were saying?
😆 Good one!

During OT I was trying figure out how a 2nd Tie for the Packers would have worked out for the NFC North standings and future results.

The Bears scored before I worked out the total implications.
The dream is still alive!!

Watched the ending from the onside kick, and it was awesome!

EDIT: damnit! Cowboys are eliminated because they would lose tiebreaker with Packers 😭

Hmm so maybe what would be better would be to beat the Lions, but for them to win today and win the last week to leap over the Packers for the last wild card spot?

So we could still be the reason the Packers are kept out?

I'd take that

Very cool and I didn’t know about it until now, free kick off a fair catch interference call.

There should be more arcane rules in sports, makes it more interesting.

Would like to see more times where a free kick is allowed! Interesting situation and it is football after all.

Would also like for the League to create a new rule that limits FG attempts to be from the opponents area of the field ... ball must be snapped from some point inside (not on) the 50 yard line.

It's just bunk to be able to kick a FG from not even in your opponents territory.

UNLESS its a free kick, tying into the post above

This is just about right....

Malik Willis basically outplayed Caleb Williams for all but 4-5 mins of that game last night.

Ugghhhh.... That OT combination for the Vikings would be an absolute utter disaster waiting to happen.

The last time The Purple scored 30+ points in three consecutive games was 98 when they did it twice thst season.

JJ now has the most receptions through 6 seasons in NFL history @Murray Warmath and that’s why you’d never trade him.

With 100 more receiving yards this season, he’ll also have the most receiving yards through 6 seasons.

Why are you even trying to throw the ball there? First play was not much and took lots of time. Then you decide to drop back and throw with 20 seconds to go.

KOC has lost a lot of luster this year.
absolute garbage

ran the ball and weren't in the hurry up.

You either come out firing on first down or you pack it in. KOC is starting to suck

Especially against the Giants. Worrying about the clock was dumb.

I’m assuming Kelly will need to retire. This makes three in one year.

They have to bring in an experienced QB next year. Even if JJM has developed, he can’t stay healthy.
He certainly should but if he doesn't, they can't bring him back. And yes, they will have to get a much better back-up than freaking Sam Howell.
