Not saying you're wrong, but I have never heard of this.
UWRF has never had a season like this one. Their history is one of good, but not great, football. In the past UW-Lacrosse was the dominant school, but the past 10 years saw UW-Whitewater rise up. They modeled their success after Mount Union, in Ohio, which has been the dominant D3 program for 30 years. If people want to talk about a school that should move up, then Mount Union is your school to whine about. They routinely got the bottom players from D1 schools in Ohio to come to Mount Union and win National Championships.
For UWRF, this season has been a cinderella season to be celebrated. A bunch of kids, many from the Minnesota metro area, have been able to make it to the D3 National Championship game when no one expected it. It's the MIAC equivalent of Concordia-Moorhead somehow making it to the Natty. Good for RF. RF is just an ag and education school in a sleepy hollow town having a one time success adventure. Good for the Falcons in doing something unheard of for that school.
