All Things 2025-2026 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

"Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Joan Beringer neared a double-double on assignment in the G League, helping the Iowa Wolves to a win over the Wisconsin Herd on Tuesday.

Beringer produced 17 points, eight rebounds, four blocked shots and two assists in the 110-108 victory at Oshkosh Arena. He finished a perfect 5-of-5 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line in 29 minutes as the Wolves improved to 8-6.

The 17th pick in the 2025 NBA draft once again displayed his athleticism, skying for several lobs in transition. He also showcased his rim protection, setting a new season high in blocks, and his ability to cover the perimeter by switching onto smaller players."

First lead they have had at the half in a while.
Some better defense would be nice.

ugh........

First game I've gone to at Target Center in a few years. Did not foresee walking out of there disgruntled after seeing 7 foot doofus Jock Londale destroy them from 3.

OKC played last night at home against the Clippers and won. (Had less free throw attempts than LA, 22-16)

Will be interesting to see if anything comes of this. Walking in saying “this is how our interactions are”
Is a major red flag for an official

Dilly looking serviceable the past couple games
He had the highest plus ratio of any wolf tonight. He gets the offense moving and creates.

If he could just find his shot. He got several open looks and just can't knock them down.

These games are generally tight, but Randle is ass every time we play them.

I keep thinking if we trade him for another scoring option on the perimeter, dam we match up with OKC in a great way.

but then how do we match up against some of the others

It's almost as if Randle is competing against Ant instead of the other team. He appears to be fighting the pecking order. I think part of the reason they lost to Memphis (whose record is much better without Ja this year) is Randle decided to be The Man. He played a lot of one on three with a low probability of success.

JJJ got the best of him in that game. He seems to have trouble against teams with some length. For the money, he’s a decent number 2 option.

It's a Catch-22 for the Wolves. If you move Randle for help at PG, you significantly weaken your frontcourt.

It's the proverbial "fill one hole by digging another" dilemma.

Randle is on arguably one of the best contracts in the NBA when factoring in his productivity and he has a legit chance to make the ASG this year.

That also makes him a valuable commodity around the league. He would make DET a pretty scary team next to Duren with Big Stew backing them both up.

It’s almost like you guys are coming around to what I’ve been saying all year

Not even close. This team still desperately needs a PG that can defend, distributor and hit the occasional open 3.

We got decent minutes from Hyland and Dilly last night that allowed Ant to play off the ball and the result was a tremendous rebounding and defensive effort from Edwards.

If anything, last night proved our point about how to maximize this team's potential. We just don't have the trade firepower/draft picks to do it without creating significant holes elsewhere.

Last night again proved they can win a championship with this roster. They've proved that over the last two years too. When they play hard, they can beat anyone. The #1 problem with this team has always been effort, not a PG.

Bones has a NBA championship playing the exact same role he did last night. Dillingham will have to continue to grow. Ant/DDV were the primary ball handlers when the game matters and it's not an issue when they play hard and don't make lazy decisions.

I didn't feel OKC was overly aggressive last night.

When the playoffs come around we don't have enough to beat them. No way can they win a championship with this roster.

Houston at Denver starting up.
Rockets too much for Nuggets.

Pains me to say it, but Garza (5 off rebounds in 9 minutes) and Minott (5 points in 10 minutes) play hard for the Celtics.
Garza with a double double. 9 offensive rebounds tonight.

They only were in the final 4 the last two years, no way though...

OKC couldn't be aggressive after Finch got kicked out and then they were officiated like every other NBA team. When there's an even playing field, OKC is very beatable.
