2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

I didn’t see it happening so fast. He’s got some MN kids at Washington state that likely come with. I’m sure they wanted to keep recruits.
Glad we got Beckett Schreiber signed before this move, I'd imagine if he knew the coach he was committed to at WSU was going to the Big 12 he would've accompanied him.

He was one I posted earlier. Great get for ISU and Fleck gets no break in recruiting.
He's one hell of a recruiter. He had a bunch of 3 stars headed to SDSU that he took to Wazzu. But his while loyalty and brotherhood schtick will lose some varnish at his 3rd job in less than 12 months. Lane Kiffin 2.0 maybe.

Rogers might be great, but his resumes is a little thin. Two years keeping the train on the track from Steigelmeier and one year of meh at Washington State.

Losing to ole Miss by 3 on the road in year one isn’t meh after a slow start to season. He went from Midwest FCS to West and had them 6-6 traveling all over the place.

Lost to James Madison by 4
Lost to Virginia by 2
Beat San Diego st who beat Cal

Campbell to PSU seems locked up. I hope it means that ISU-MN pipeline gets cutoff. Could also mean that he takes that with him and is bolstered by ridiculous PSU money.
ISU-MN pipeline? I don’t recall them beating us for many MN kids.

Campbell is from the area and pretty consistently knows how to win in a low ceiling enviornment, now he will have resources and is at the dominant program in a state. Good hire imo.
Yeah he would probably be my dream hire if Fleck left.

Meh, still not scared to recruit against ISU unless Rogers elevates them beyond where Campbell has them.
You may never been to a game down there. I happen to catch one this year and it’s a festive very positive campus and stadium for big time football.

Toledo DC Vince Kehres is in Lincoln this weekend interviewing for Nebraska’s DC job.

That may be, but Minnesota kids haven’t been drawn there much in the past.
Maybe so. I know that a gaggle of Lakeville North and South kids tend to head down there for school every year so it appeals to that sort of demographic. When I looked up the departing coach’s record it wasn’t as good as I thought, but it’s a good job and could be a sleeper going forward. PJ has kinda locked down the border, anyway, so less worried than I would have been before.

It's kind of weird. I don't remember anyone I knew going to school in Iowa at all, but a lot my co-workers kids went to ISU. I wonder if reciprocity agreements changed?

Couldn't get into Wisconsin, 1st choice for Lakeville lol

It shows they didn't really have a plan. I'm sure they were assuming they'd do better.
If they thought this was the caliber of hire they dont fire Franklin...certainly not mid season.

Look Campbell is a good coach its not a knock on him but he is replacing a guy who was coming off a run in the playoffs. The pressure is huge and if he isnt that level or better he wont last.

For the situation they put themselves in they backed into a good hire. But no one at Penn State, none of their fans, zero pundits or posters around here would have said it was a smart move to replace Franklin with Campbell going into the year nor when Franklin was fired.

Well said.
