Week 14 Rivaly Week Other Games Thread

San Diego St at New Mexico, both teams TO (int/fum) in 1st OT. Don’t know if I’ve seen that before.

Can't say I've watched a lot of NBC games so far, but who on Earth are these announcers for Indiana and Purdue?

Well that was a pretty disastrous last 5 minutes for A&M
I will never understand trying to run stretch the play your backup comes in. If you’re going obvious run, hammer it up the gut for 2-3 and kick. Lost yards and put it on an angle. Gotta let the kid let it rip rather than turtle imo

I have no idea what Elko is waiting for. 1230 from having to listen to every moron pundit telling us Texas should be in

He could have kicked a short Field Goal to put them up by 8, went for it and failed. A little later he went for it again in his own territory and failed. I thought both moves were ill advised, especially the first one.
Going for it on 4th down has gotten way out of control in college and NFL football.

Yeah, with 3 loses it would seem like there is no way they should be able to get in but it is the SEC so there will definitely be people saying they should be in. Course those are the same people who believe the CFP should basically be a SEC conference tournament.

SEC likely ends up with 4 teams at 7-1. Two teams are going to get the benefit of playing in the SEC championship game.

Would seem like A&M, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Alabama (if they win tomorrow) would basically be locks for the CFP. Texas definitely has a case that they should be ahead of Oklahoma and Vanderbilt if the SEC gets a 5th team.

Personally I hope no conference gets more than 4 teams in the CFP field.

I'm hoping Indiana smacks OSU in the mouth and knocks them out of the number 1 ranking in the B1G champ game, then win all their games in the in CFP for an undefeated natty.
I love a rags to riches story!

It's all good. We are simply going to agree to disagree on this play. Watch it again and you will notice the defender's head never goes above the shoulder pad level of the person with the ball. The person with the ball ducks their head and that is what causes the helmet to helmet contact. Again, I've played football so many times as a defender, I was not trying to hurt anybody, but they ducked their helmet and we hit helmet to helmet. You simply cannot control it at that speed.

Targeting should be called on plays where the defender intentionally leads with the helmet. You can tell when those plays happen. In my opinion, this is not one of those plays. And Gene Sarato needs to freaking go back to the 1980s when he played and realized the game is different now.
Like the old spearing rule.

Texas A&M conference opponents this year. If this was Indiana or Ohio State the normal SEC/ESPN folks would be all over it.IMG_4109.jpeg

Some definite scheduling luck there....I think Ohio State is great but their conference schedule would look very similar to this as their best conference win to date is 5-3 Washington who currently sits in 7th place in the conference.

Let's count the PIs #1 for OSU should be called for, I already count 3, including that last pass in the end zone.
Underwood sailed the throw. Had it been more catchable he might have drawn the flag.

Michigan linebacker just head butted a ref and only got a penalty. No ejection. Crazy.
