Per Ted, with a hot take!

Minnesota’s success deserves scrutiny with Fleck rowing

Listen, I came into this season thinking the Gophers could run the table and pull off their second double-digit winning season under P.J. Fleck. I was quickly reminded in a loss to Cal why that was never going to happen.

Fleck has turned around the culture for the Minnesota Gophers, and the program is in the best spot it has seen in years. However, there’s absolutely a ceiling to what he has done, and the floor is ugly.

The win against a ranked Nebraska team was a fun one, but Fleck has shucked the Huskers plenty. He continues to get pummeled by Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes, and the latest iteration was the worst we have ever seen.

It doesn’t matter that the Gophers won. It doesn’t even really matter that it was so ugly. By this time though, it matters that the coach is oblivious to the results that constantly have followed him, and glossing over them while failing to be better remains hollow.

At least Fleck can go crowd surfing while being 1-0 in the Michigan State season. They’ll go 1-0 on their second bye week of the season too.

Go Gophers!!

There’s a reason nobody knows this guy. Now we know him. There’s a difference between bitching on Gopherhole and writing an article like this. This guy is a random blogger.

That's why I appreciate bleed. He brings the bullshit here so we don't have to click the article and give dbag the stats to think his opinion is worth continuing to try to profit from.

There is a decent possibility this season will end in another 8-4 regular season and 6-3 in the B1G.

If you suggest some sort of coaching change, be careful what you wish for. Perhaps there is another Cignetti out there but I can guarantee there are lots of Brewsters and Wackers out there. I’ve watched a LOT of Gopher football over the years when it seemed 6 big ten wins was a fantasy.

But, I don’t ever recall a year where 3 of the first 4 B1G wins felt like they required an apology either. Fleck has had some season where things have been tantalizingly close to 10 wins but ended in 8 or 9 instead. This is the opposite of that. The Gophers are within an eyelash of being 1-5 in the B1G right now.

I am blown away by having a season I never dreamed of, with a record exactly where I predicted it to be right now. I literally don’t know how to react to that.

All in all I will stand by what I have been telling friends: that I feel this is the worst Gophers team since 2017. Yet this team has a shot at finishing 9-4 (with a bowl win). I’m definitely disappointed with coaching, but weirdly optimistic for the next few years under Fleck as well. In the end results matter and this season has a shot at ending with a lot of wins. 10 years from now nobody will recall Purdue and a winless MSU ran up and down the field on the Gophers. Both games were W’s.

Agreed but you don't have to go back to 2017 for a team as bad or worse than this one. The 2023 team was worse. Despite allowing a couple of weak teams to rack up big yardage, this team has a pretty decent defense and they lead the league in sacks.

The floor is ugly? Assuming another win this year, it will be 7 or more wins in 6 of the last 7 full seasons.

Where is the Golden douchebag award for this Ted guy, I know we have the dink-o-meter but Ted is worthy of a GD trophy. Coaching at the Univetsity of Minnesota no sure thing, not when the the coaching staff has to make chicken soup out of chicken sh!t on the football field with injury's and the NIL portal era. Sometimes we end up playing guys who are not ready but everyone is pitching in. MINNESOTA is not a hotbed of recruiting talent. I like this team, frusturating mistalke play, exhilarating play, it is roller coaster of emotion. One thing this team has learned is grit and humility. They battle you, and I like that about the Gophers. I like that PJ, bugs opponents fan bases and some fans, it means people give a dang, and the Gophers are having success in a season that was likely to be a struggle with replacing some seniors from last year and defensive coaches. Nothing is a given in college football. Gophers have earned the record they have by competing to win on the scoreboard in the end. Iowa was a rough game, but that team has a great defense and continuity of staff. It is not always easy to have a consistent program and winner, especially when you spent 15 years being a doormat. Not that long ago we lost 17 consecutive games to Michigan State. We tried a salesmen, big talk guy when we opened the stadium, I do not want to go back to that.

Don’t know who this guy is but he would fit in great with the malcontents that post here after every loss. Maybe he is one of them. :)
I don't think the bar is too high to become a Ted (non-talk) Schwerler -
