He's the real deal. And he never leaves a bad impression - he's always welcome back wherever he leaves.

The usual cover is hiring the search firm to vet out "candidates." I often wonder if I shouldn't resister as a sports vetting firm to just accept checks and say the process is confidential.

He has done a really solid job at CSU and 3 NCAA tournament appearances in past 4 years there is impressive. Memphis is very short handed but Colorado State has been extremely impressive against them in the second half.

Looks like we will have to wait through the weekend to find out if he is Minnesota bound after the tournament ends for them.

I’d be on board with him. I think his resume and results are reasons enough that his local ties aren’t the primary reason to hire him.

They would be a heavy favorite against Grand Canyon so just kind of assumed that one. :)

On a side note, first year I didn't join any office pools and just did a free bracket online for the heck of it. Have hit on 19 of 20 games so far with only loss being Kansas.....figures.
 

Looking at Medved at each of his college destinations. He has improved as a coach at every stop. Can he do the same here? If he did, the Gophers will achieve phenomenal success. We shall see if Minnesota has the cheese touch or the Midas touch.

Sure, but isn't there also an advantage that you can sell yourself as a coach who was just in the Sweet Sixteen (or better) if they get past this weekend?

this. if he's a done deal, i want him to win the FF. This is an exaggeration to some extent, but most of the premier guys aren't going to sign when there are still going to be a ton of visits and such to set up

One thing to have success at those places. Another thing altogether to have success at the most difficult job in the country. (Sarcasm in play)

I remember when Ben Johnson was hired. I immediately thought it must be Jacobsen and I heard it wrong. I was flabbergasted that we hired Jacobsen, but I then was depressed when I learned that it was indeed Johnson.
