So great to see Opelka back after nearly 2 years of injuries and what a way to start 2025 with a win over Novak. Pure class here by both after the match:

Go USA!!

Osaka picks up where she left off:

Go USA!!

Good to see Sebi back, really hope he can have an injury-free year:

Go USA!!

Remember this name: Nishesh Basavareddy. He's a fast rising young American. He played 1 year at Stanford and went pro after a successful summer and fall season. First win over a Top 25 player at 19 years old is crazy. He could be inside the Top 100 by summer or earlier.

Go USA!!

Dang, the Aussie has started. Where does the time go?

Since I forgot to observe it when it happened, farewell and thank you to Rafa!

Finally, Murray coaching Joker has to be one of the most unexpected moves in tennis history

Gauff takes down Kenin 6-3, 6-3.

The American's are really having a great tournament with a couple of massive breakthrough's for our young men. Most notably at 3am Melbourne time, 19 year old Learner Tien beat Medvedev in a thrilling 5 set match. I first saw Tien at a junior tournament two years ago and he had a lot of hype but the last 6 months since turning full time pro have been incredible, and now this massive win. He had won 20 straight matches in late fall in the Challenger circuit, but the poise he showed today against Medvedev, after losing a match point in the 3rd set tie break is incredible.

American men's tennis is poised to have a big breakthrough with the current crop of Fritz/Paul/Shelton and this upcoming group of late teens/early 20's right behind them. I'm very excited about the future of American men's tennis:

Go USA!!

Danielle Collins doing Danielle Collins things...love that she's not afraid to be a villan, good for the sport:

Go USA!!

Dang, Fritz lost to Monfils who, if I'm not mistaken is approaching his 70th birthday.

Keys with a nice win today over number six Rybakina.

Also I see the middle of the net somehow came loose in the Sinner/Rune match and had to be re-anchored into the court. Hard to believe that happened at a major

Incredible match by Novak today, it's crazy how good he is at 37. His movement is incredible and he's such a smart player. What a match.

Nice to see Shelton and Keys make the semis! Shelton gets Sinner and Keys gets Swiatek next...that's a little rough.

Very tough matchups for both American's, but when you get this far there are no easy matchups.

Shelton is such a fun player to watch, his moxie, confidence, shot making, etc. He's not bombing serves like he was last year which is a deliberate decision by he and his Dad to preserve his shoulder for the long-term which is smart.

And Keys is such a likable player, would love to see her get a Slam, but Swiatek is just on a different level. Hope I'm wrong.

Swiatek is pretty amazing. Watched her match vs Navarro and she hits everything hard, forehand and backhand, no matter if she's in defensive or offensive mode. Rooting for Keys, who hits it hard too, but Swiatek vs Sabalenko would be a great final.

Yep, Swiatek was just absolutely punishing the ball yesterday.

Absolutely incredible win for Keys and incredible match by both. Best win of Keys career and couldn’t happen to a nicer player. Wow!!!!

Go Madison Keys!!

That was fun to watch. Keys pretty much matched her power and Swiatek came a bit unglued with uncharacteristic errors. Think she felt the pressure a bit.

What the hell just happened?!?!

I was about to post about Joker choking away the first set tiebreaker by dumping into the net. I picked up my phone and he was on the other side of the net congratulating zverev.

Crazy ending, came out of nowhere.

Sasha’s post match interview with our guy Courier was very classy. I gained a lot of respect for him.

Go Shelton!!

Max Exsted from Minnesota just won his second straight Australian Open Junior Doubles title!! He’s not going to college (as of now) which is surprising as most top players are now spending 1-2 years in college, hope going straight pro works out for him. It’s a rough road and need a lot of financial backing.

Absolutely agreed on Zverevs comments. In those confusing moments he was able to eloquently but firmly talk generally about how you don't boo injured people and specifically about the fact that Djokovic is a guy who would never walk off unless he absolutely had to.
