Official 2024 Gophers Football Recruiting Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Rumors

South Dakota has a QB who committed to Ohio State (2023) and I guess the second one is Knuth to MN (2022).

In 2020, MN had Suggs and Bouman (higher rated than Knuth).
Forgot about Suggs. Bouman may have been rated higher than Knuth, but the offers and recruiting attention were less than Knuth if I recall properly.

Gophers are on the "Blitz" with all coaches on the road hitting as many HS's as possible today and Monday. Fun to see their tweets with pictures of HS coaches and schools.

Get him on campus and worry about the sport later. Hopefully basketball or football can land him.
on3.com has him a top 75 basketball player and 210 in football. 4* in both. Seems to be a football lean lately.

Irondale OL gets Iowa Offer
Mandell received 3 P5 offers yesterday, Iowa, Kansas and Syracuse. Minnesota was the first to offer in October, followed by Iowa State.

Irondale kid is racking up the offers, he looks like a really good prospect

Yeah this is a pretty sweet set of shots. Love it
Nice seeing Winston DeLattiboudere in Gopher togs again. I expect better DL play next year ... and hope for DL coaching continuity for several years.

Gotta think Winston will be a huge asset in recruiting. Former player under Fleck, and not a ton older than the current players so can relate to them on a different level than an older coach can. Seems to be rising up fairly quickly in the coaching ranks so hopefully that means his coaching will also be top notch also.

Time will tell but seems like a great add to the staff.

Freitag will be interesting to watch. He's not quite as talented as Suggs, but it seems like a similar situation. If he chooses to play football, the Gophers have a really good chance. If he chooses basketball, he'll play elsewhere.

From the outside it seems like basketball would be the pick. More offers and basketball just gives someone an easier path to good money.

But it's possible he loves football more too.

At his size football may be the better long term choice. He's currently listed at 6'1"-6'2" in high school, which means he's likely closer to 6'0". It's much harder to make it to the NBA as a 6'0" PG, where it's common to see a WR/DB at that size in the NFL. That's the biggest difference between he and Suggs, who is a legit 6'5".
