Will the Gophers crack the Top 25 this week?

I would venture to guess 28 in AP. But Wayne is correct........

MN did everything they needed to in the non-con:
They proved Mo and Trey are back and healthy.
They proved they could have an explosive run game.
They proved they could have an explosive pass game if the defenses stacked the box.
The new OL and DL passed the eye test to clear up question marks going into the season.
They got meaningful snaps to the 2s and 3s.

The results:
Blowing away their opponents in a fashion that Fleck has not done since he arrived in MN.
Offense putting up massive amounts of yards/pts while not letting starting defense give up more than 3 pts.

Rankings?
Being ranked coming out of the non-con was never an expected result.
Beating an 11-win B1G East opponent on the road however would make an excellent case for being ranked.

Interesting that MSU got beaten relatively comfortably by Washington, yet are still above them in the coaches poll.

The longer the Gophers are disrespected the hungrier and easier it is to play winning football. Next week is going to show us a lot, on the road against a decent team.

I think it will. Sparty is still ranked in the AP poll, the one that matters. A 4-0 record with a quality ranked win and three dominant performances would get them ranked. Lose, and it will take a few more weeks of wins.
Ranked in coaches poll, not in AP top 25

But MSU won’t be a “quality win” according to the media. MSU will have lost to an unranked Minnesota team and fallen to 2-2, so obviously they were never good in the first place! Therefore, Minnesota didn’t beat a good team and gets little credit.

The disrespect gets old and the circular poll logic is infuriating. But let’s just hope we get the win at Sparty—which won’t be easy. People will start paying attention eventually if we keep winning.

Don't think win at MSU gets us in top 25
Some of the Sept 24 games:
32 Oregon State vs 7 USC
30 WSU vs 15 Oregon
29 NC vs Irish
26 MSU vs 33 Gophs
23 A&M vs 10 Ark
22 Texas vs Tx Tech
21 WF vs 5 Clemson
20 Florida vs 11 TN
19 BYU vs Wyo
18 Wash vs Stanford
17 Baylor vs Iowa State

Should be a lot of movement in the 15 to 35 range.
