Conference USA First Team transfer CB Beanie Bishop Commits

Looks like his only competing portal offers were from Tulane, Miami OH and Old Dominion. Seems very strange for a first team all conference CB. But if Rossi’s happy I’m happy.

Yeah interesting that those were his offers and Stapp was second team all conference at the FCS level yet had Neb, NW, WSU, Mississippi State and Louisville.

You'd think it'd be the other way around.

Hopefully a scenario where he was so locked into MN other teams didn't even attempt except schools that were willing to throw an offer out there in hopes things with MN fell apart.

He also returns kicks. So maybe between he and Mar'Keise Irving the Gophers can return kickoffs like other teams.

Hmmm... I thought I had heard this kid was gunna be getting major offers and everyone was going to go after him...

Either way.. glad to have the experience going the c.b. room

Really like our 2 transfer cbs. Should be solid there.

Nice add to get some veteran experience into a young group.

Great pick up! Welcome aboard!

Great name. I hope we hear this next year, "Bernie Bishop with another pick-6".

Fleck has spoken about this many times. His reasoning is sound.
Fleck also mentioned Ryan Stapp in his plan to create a dynamic return game. Add Dino K to the mix and the talent is there.

Hopefully we only have to hold on to him for another couple of weeks before he enrolls in January.

I really like that we added a couple of a JuCos here. We lose 3 CBs that played a ton and a 4th (McDonald) who started playing quite a bit towards the end of the year. Even without injury, there should definitely be opportunity for 2-3 of the underclassmen to get significant run.

I also think Rossi will start playing 3 S's a bit more next year. We ran a few plays with Dixon, Howden and Nubin in the game and Dixon was pretty impressive. He had at least one big play in the WI game.

1st team C-USA on a pretty good WKU team. That's nothing to sneeze at. Really great pickup. But that's the Gophers for you. Just reloading!

Nice pick up! In addition, a nice Christmas present for us worried about the secondary.
