Interesting email from ticket office

Speaking for me again ! If you read my posts about him you would know that i do not support his actions. I would double my gift if we had a coach who won a handful of conference titles, won a national title. The gifting grows with the success the programs have.

It's a joke, lighten up Francis. Per you, you're pushing 70, and you take the stuff posted on here that seriously? I guess we now know that you and Veritas are related (see another joke).

Seen a bunch of rumors on boards that Hurt might transfer: Duke’s, UNC’s, and Kentucky’s. Not sure if there are any truths to the rumblings, but would be my educated guess...unless Gaston diedhiou has remaining eligibility?

Good guess. Since we are guessing i will go with Mitchell
I had to look him up, I assume the better of the twins that left Maryland. It sure sounds like they have a bit of maturing to do, 5 schools in 5 years. He has talent, but may have a problem with attitude... no thanks.

Step on the Gas!

Also a former Shakopee HS product. He has no attitude concerns.

In all seriousness, he's the kind of guy you want when building a program. I've seen him a few times for BC and the guy is all hustle all the time. Limited offensively, but 100% effort and solid on the boards. He's the kind of guy that would have really helped five years ago. I'd take him now too, but the culture impact he could make is limited with only one year.

They got a big prize in grad transfer post Patrick Tape yesterday, and they have the #11 SF, #29 C, #37 PF, and #44 PF coming in as freshman next year (according to 247). Perhaps Hurt is weighing the risk to his career if he loses minutes to any of those four guys.

Did we not recrit him out of HS? Or did we offer and whiff?

I'm not sure any of this is legit, but the email exists. Its a ticket office guy telling me about an impact transfer he thinks is leaving his current school and is probable to come here. Could be trying to save his own job in a dwindling field (I usually just do my ticket transactions online) or maybe he is bored AF (like the rest of us)

I posted it because I thought it was interesting. I have been on here enough to say it is a legit email, though the substance behind it is up in the air.

Finally, I do want them to lower ticket prices.

In the event it were Hurt, I assume he would wait to decide until there is clarity on the transfer rules.

I think all transfers should do this. You can finish the semester or at least wait until basketball would typically be done (especially if you're doing online classes like many universities) and then decide what you want to do. No reason to transfer if you're sitting out (for some guys)

FWIW, I don't think Hurt will leave Duke. I wouldn't if I were him.

I don't know.... Seriously, I think he is going to have a lot better shot at showcasing himself for the NBA here than he will at Duke- considering his particular situation. Obviously Duke is an NBA factory but I don't think that Hurt is going to be sticking out as much there, especially considering what they have coming in next year.

I could see him leaving Duke, but why come here? Because we put a guy in the NBA? Or two? LOTS of teams would welcome Hurt with open arms and do that consistently.

I guess that effectively kills the Hurt speculation if the messenger says it's not him.

I didn't say it wasn't him. I said I don't think he will or should transfer. I agree with Built (I struggled to type this) that he is at the right place for him. Now, if he is told by coach K that he isn't going to play much and is their 10th man, then he should leave because NBA teams are still interested in him.

It's all a mind game. It was HURT! he's coming back to where he belongs to play actual minutes for a team who wants him

I am mixed about Hurt. He is not an Oturu. I know he is very talented and you always take those players, but is he the type of player that will fit into the style Pitino wants to play? He doesn't block shots, he does very little rebounding and plays no defense. He can get up and down the floor, but is he someone (akin, but different stye, to a Murphy) that you need to change your team play to use his strength and make up for some glaring weakness?

Please, no snide remarks. Just asking how the team would adjust.

I checked out some the Duke boards and most people are looking for him to be a major part of their team next year. But they all add that his offense is his strong point and that he needs to add strength and that he plays no defense.

Hurts stats are pretty good. Now add 10-12 more minutes on there added with a lot more usage on our roster. We'd love it here Minnesota. Hometown kid, lots of potential. You may be right about his defense, there's a reason he didn't get much time for Duke, but no doubt he'd have a big impact for us.

We all know that built is going to soon act like Hurt is looking at the badgers
you could not be more wrong. If there was even a hint he was thinking about leaving Duke he has better options than Minnesota or even UW.

No more Hurts. He made his choice. It's like getting Jeb Bush.
