Anyone know how many Outback Bowl tickets we have sold? Not counting secondary markets.

This time last year looks like Iowa had roughly 6,000 sold, Tennessee needed additional tickets a few years back and Mississippi Stated struggled selling them.

Several news outlets on Monday reported that the U had already sold A few thousand tickets.
No news since then.

The really crappy part about bowl tickets is the bowls saddle the schools with bad seats at premium prices and then ding the school if they don't sell them all. I don't know the exact section but I heard from someone that the $80 seats the U is selling are in the endzone.

Corner and endzone

does anyone know 100% what sides/end the gophers fans are located

Bowl ticket prices are obscene and because "secondary market" tickets are controlled by the big two don't expect to see prices fall greatly. We went in '15 and I expected a glut of low priced tickets on the street on game day...there were not. Plenty available at the ticket window with no discounts even one hour prior to kickoff. There will be at least 20,000 empty seats...probably more.

Pirate Ship is in the north end zone.....

Me and you have a big difference of opinion on what is a bad seat. Also, this is a premium game so be prepared to pay premium prices. I sold "bad" endzone seats for the Penn State and Wisconsin games for well over $80.

What sections are the Gophers in? My son bought are tickets in section 214. Just curious where most of the Gopher fans are sitting

That's where I'm sitting as well. Gophers sideline is on that side, so supposedly the allotment from the U is that side plus one of the endzones (I think South).

I finally bought mine from the U.

Anyone do the tailgate they are offering on the website?

At $99 a ticket that seemed STEEP... would have to be a pretty amazing tailgate ... like better than Outback Steak House ...

We're not sure yet because of the price. We did the U tailgate at the Holliday Bowl and liked it but I don't think it was that expensive.

I bought my tickets through the U this am. He told me 75% of their allotment was spoken for so far. They will assign the seats between sections 208-213 and the club seats behind these based upon your Gopher score on Monday. The seats I got through the U for the Citrus bowl were lower level @ the 40yard line with all Gopher fans. The total cost was $85 and the club seats were $175- $5 handling fee per ticket. You can buy a lot of food and drink for $90. Go Gophers !

Was told he same, that club seating would be sections 208-213. So fear over Gophers getting bad allotment seem untrue. If we don't want to get dinged for poor attendance, we need to buy the tickets through the athletic office so they'll count.

Couldn’t guarantee where my tickets would be if I bought through the U, so bought from Stub Hub. First row end zone, which while not ideal to watch the game, should be pretty fun for my kids.

Looks like Stadium Club seats are sold out through U. A good sign for sure. Just hope Gopher Score members that requested them all get them as chance to buy for reasonable price on Stubhub has now passed.

I bought from the school just like I do for away games. More fun to be with gopher fans and the additional costs aren’t the expensive part of the trip.
Interesting. For away games at IA, MI, WI, and NE I have bought my tix through that school so I can be placed in the middle of their fans. I find that to be a great experience - although it proved to be a bad choice at Iowa.

the $99 is outrageous - just open it to all and if we want something to eat/drink well buy it. There is a pregame bowl bash at the stadium that is free that we will go to

Grabbed 4 club level for $700. Pretty high, but hey it's the Gophers, in FLA, on New Year's Day. Let's play!

We are going to the tailgate. Figured we'd spend at least $100 from 10 am to game time at a bar so might as go and have a good time. I wonder if the bar is truly open?

It is never truly open.

Either the bartender or the cops are always a problem....

Looking at the past couple Outback bowls, seems like they were 10,000 to 20,000 short of selling out overall. Wonder if that means that the Gophers could grab some that are available to the general public if we exceeded our original allotment.
