Associated Press Ranks Gopher Football No. 25 In Preseason Poll

The Gophers are ranked No. 25 in the Associated Press preseason poll released Saturday, August 14th. It is the first time under head coach Glen Mason and the first time since 1969 that Minnesota has been ranked in the AP poll. Minnesota, under head coach Murray Warmath, was ranked 19th in the 1969 preseason Associated Press poll.

The Big Ten has the most teams ranked in the top 25 with six. Michigan is ranked No. 8, Ohio State is No. 9, Iowa is No. 19, Wisconsin is No. 21 and Purdue is No. 24.

Last season, Minnesota finished the season ranked 17th in the ESPN/USA Today poll and 20th in the AP poll.
