Forget the Tailgating Hassles and Get Over to McNamara Alumni Center!

It’s no secret that tailgating is my favorite hobby; I like to call it a sport actually.  It makes the entire game day.  Without tailgating I wouldn’t have met hundreds of amazing people, a number of close friends, former players, coaches, the band, and of course, Goldy Gopher.  Tailgating brings a fan base together, and makes the day about more than just the game; it’s about the commaraderie of college football, and how special that is.

I am very lucky to tailgate with an amazing group of friends.  But, let’s be honest, it’s a ton of work.  We all fill up our SUVs and trucks with tents, tables, grills, coolers, a TV and satellite dish.  Not to mention all the preparation it takes for food, you’re talking hours of shopping, food preparation, hundreds of dollars and then all of the cooking.

What’s a great way to get the tailgate and pre-game experience without doing all of this work?  Going to the McNamara Alumni Center Pregame Party.  They have it all for you, and admission is free!  You can choose from a full bar stocked with the fixings for mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, beer…any cocktail.  Instead of being up all night cooking, you can grab a tasty hot dog, pizza or pulled pork sandwich from D’Amico (all of which are really good!) or an egg sandwich or breakfast burrito for an 11am game.

McNamara Alumni Center Pregame Party features:

  • It is literally right across from the stadium, so you won’t waste any time with a long haul
  • It’s simple to find and spacious, so you can arrange to meet all your friends here
  • You don’t need to be an alumnus or even have a ticket to the game, this party is open to everyone. They welcome all college football fans
  • They have a big screen that shows ESPN and other college games, so you won’t miss a moment of action while tailgating
  • It’s the 6th year they’ve been doing it, so they are experts by now

So think about swinging by the McNamara Alumni Center before all home games. They open 2 hours before kickoff, except for Homecoming, where you’ll have 3 hours to enjoy the festivities.
