GopherHole.com Staff Picks – Week 5

Over the course of the college football season, the GopherHole.com writers will be engaging in an intense battle to see who is the most intelligent (or luckiest) football fan of the bunch. Each week we will give our predictions for each Big Ten game along with a few national games. To make things more interesting, a special guest will make his/her predictions each week as well, along with a member of The Hole. We’ll be charting the results all season and come January we will know without a doubt who the smartest (or luckiest) person is.

This week’s celebrity guest is Jeff Shelman. Shelman is the Gopher basketball beat writer for the Star Tribune and is oft-regarded as one of the nation’s best college basketball writers. The University of Minnesota grad used to cover the Cincinnati Bearcats before returning home to cover the maroon and gold. The aspiring scratch golfer also has a regular college basketball column for ESPN.com.
