All Things TV Series Recommendations/Reviews

I would also say that for ME personally, one of the barometers I have always used in gauging the quality of a series (or perhaps the ones I have liked the most just happen to HAVE this trait) is the depth of talent on the staff.

When you have a series where the 5th or 7th most important character is still a great character, to me that's a great series.
It's time for you to give Mad Men another shot. Jon Hamm certainly drives the series but the rest of the supporting cast have their own storylines and carry their own weight.

As great as the Draper character is, John Slattery's portrayal of his Boss, "Roger Sterling", steals almost every scene he's in. I'm convinced he'll be your favorite character by the end of the series.

Top ten all time show. AMC has a number of them along with Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, and Halt and Catch Fire (quite possibly my favorite of the bunch).

I’d put Mad Men in my Top 5; so compelling without any violence (except for a lone riding lawn mower incident). One of the reasons I enjoy Fletch Lives! so much is the reunion of Hamm and Slattery.

well what'd ya think of the ending?

Saved it all and binged once it was all out. Won't spoiler it in a reply just in case you haven't watched, but generally did find 1st half>2nd half for the last season
Just finished last night-for reasons that aren't all that interesting, it took awhile for my and my wife's viewing schedules to align.

I would agree with you regarding Part 1 > Part 2. (HUGE SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T YET WATCHED) When the storyline was focused upon killing Henry/Vecna and the Mind Flayer, it was excellent and compelling. As soon as it diverged into the wrapping up of all the personal storylines, it got pretty trite. The last half hour or so was a huge adrenaline comedown from the conquering of Vecna/Mind Flayer. In fact, I was gearing up for a showdown between Eleven and the crew against Linda Hamilton's government agency, so that was quite a comedown. Overall, I thought the series finished strong, but. . .it could have been better.
