Capital One Bowl Tickets

The Capital One Bowl game is one of the major non BCS games like the popular Chick-fil-A Bowl. The game is played on New Year's Day in Orlando, Florida. It features contests between the Big 10 and the Southeast conferences and has the pick of these conferences after the BCS bowls have been determined. It has displayed some of the greatest school teams in the history of college football. It was formerly named the Tangerine Bowl, and later the Citrus Bowl before the emergence of the BCS and the flood of corporate sponsorship. The games organizers were disappointed that they were not picked as one of the BCS venues but are continually pleading to the BCS to be included along with the 4 big games.

The game is televised immediately prior to the Rose Bowl which always gives the contest huge television ratings, and the revenue that goes along with it. Major advertisers want desperately and will pay dearly to get a spot on the big bowl games and the ones with the most viewers. The help of the Rose Bowl spotlight carries on to the Capital One Bowl.

Because the game is played on New Year's Day, it is hard to get Capital One Bowl tickets and they cost a pretty penny. While not one of the premier games of the year, and without the tie in of the BCS series, the formerly called Citrus Bowl is one of the most popular games in all of college football. The biggest and most popular teams from the Big 10 and the SEC have played in the contest and it is always a great contest to watch. Big 10 powers, the University of Michigan and Ohio State University are often one of the teams playing. The SEC powers, the University of Miami Florida, Florida State University, Auburn University, and Louisiana State University are also well featured in the annual game.

Those college players who have played in the game benefit from the popularity of the game that comes from it being on the national stage. They are usually drafted higher and offered bigger contracts because of this exposure.

Because the game has such a large audience the game has large payouts for the teams which make it an attractive contest to play in. One of the most appealing aspects of the Capital One Bowl is that all profits are donated to charity. It is the only major bowl game that has this distinction as a non profit organization.
